About Us

Wainuiomata Darts Association has been supported by the local community since 1981. In the earlier years our Winter League Competitions were held in various home venues and other local facilities.

In 1996 the association secured a home venue within the Wainuiomata RSA. The move has provided greater facilities for our members and the opportunity to host inter club events, development initiatives and visiting associations.

We have a large membership and our association is also supported by players from the Hutt Valley and greater Wellington Districts.

Wainuiomata Darts Association take this opportunity to thank all members for their ongoing support.

The Association

The Wainuiomata Darts Association has proudly supported the sport of darts for 25 years.

We are affiliated members of the New Zealand Darts Council (NZDC) who are governed by the World Darts Federation (WDF).

Our Location

Our dart facilities are within the Wainuiomata Memorial RSA premises at 42-50 Burden Ave, Wainuiomata.

Representative Squads

Our philosophy is:

“To Be Seen As Putting The Best Team Forward”

To achieve this we have put into place a fair and transparent selection process.

Our long term goal is to establish a:

“Player Development Program”

with the aim in improving both team and individual performance.

The Wainuiomata Darts Association currently have two representative squads. Each squad includes three mens and two womens teams. We compete against other darts associations within the Mid to Lower North Island.

National Championships

The Senior Championships are held in August annually.

Our association is zoned individually due to our large club membership and we compete in both the womens and mens zone team competitions.

Other entries to the championships are singles, mens and womens pairs, mixed pairs, husband and wife and New Zealand Open Singles competitions.

Zone Teams are selected by our club selectors where as the other competitions are by open entry. These championships are well supported by our members.

Association Trophies

Over the course of the winter season our members have the opportunity to compete for our club trophies.

It is important to the Wainuiomata Darts Association  that these events continue each year and are supported by our members.

The competitions are held on either a Friday Night or on a Sunday.

Social Events

The calendar would never be complete without allowing for JUST A BIT OF FUN.

Our social calendar includes a club teams event, the Lion Brown 7’s, our Annual Log Day where association members have the opportunity to challenge past and present committee members and our final event of the year, the Maori vs Tauiwi challenge.
