Playing Rules
As Amended 20th February 2008
Winter League
Super Premier & Premier
- All games to be played on two boards.
- Games to be Round Robin of pairs and each player to play 1 Singles match.
- All games to be played, best of 3 legs, 501 straight start, double finish.
- Format is to play half of pairs, then the singles and then finish off with the other half of pairs.
1st Division
- All games to be played on two boards.
- Games to be Round Robin of pairs—1 leg 701 straight start, double finish.
- Each player is to play a singles match — best of 3 legs 501, straight start, and double finish.
- Format is to play half of pairs, then the singles and finish off with the other half of pairs.
2nd Division
- All games to be played on two boards.
- Games to be Round Robin of pairs — 1 leg 501 straight start, double finish.
- Each player is to play a singles match — best of 1 leg 501, straight start, and double finish.
- Format is to play half of pairs, then the singles and finish off with the other half of pairs.
Round Robin
- Accumulated pairs won in each league game.
- All Premier, First Division 1st Round, 2nd Division games count.
- Trophies for all Divisions.
Super Premier Challenge Shield
- Eligible to Super Premier Only
- To be played from the start of the season.
- Holder to be challenged each Super Premier game.
- In the event of a draw, the holder retains the Shield.
- The winner of the Shield is the team who holds it on the last night of the Super Premier.
- In the event of the holder from the previous season not being in the Super Premier Division, the winner of the previous year’s Super Premier shall start as the holder of the Super Premier Shield
Men’s Singles
- Open to all males registered through the New Zealand Darts Council with the Wainuiomata Darts Association.
- All players will play in their respective divisions.
- Section Play, best of 3 legs, 501, followed by 1 life knock-out, best of 5 legs and the final, best of 7 legs.
- Seeding shall be done before the beginning of play, and shall remain for the whole event.
- A 1 life knockout Plate Round shall be played for all non qualifiers from section play, which will be best of 3 legs, 501, with the final being best of 5 legs, 501.
Ladies Singles
- Open to all females registered through the New Zealand Darts Council with the Wainuiomata Darts Association.
- Super Premier and Premier Divisions players will play in their respective divisions, 1st and 2nd Divisions will be combined in one division.
- Section play, best of 3 legs, 501, followed by 1 life knock-out, best of 5 legs and the final, best of 7 legs.
- Seeding shall be done for Super Premier and Premier Divisions before the beginning of play, and shall remain for the whole event. No seeding shall be done for 1st and 2nd Divisions.
- A 1 life knockout Plate Round shall be played for all non qualifiers from section play, which will be best of 3 legs, 501, with the final being best of 5 legs, 501.
Team Pairs - All Divisions
- Open to all players registered through the New Zealand Darts Council with the Wainuiomata Darts Association.
- All players will play in their respective divisions.
- Section Play, best of 3 legs, 501, followed by 1 life knock-out, best of 5 legs, and the final, best of 7 legs.
- Seeding shall be done before the beginning of play, and shall remain for the whole event.
- A 1 life knockout Plate Round shall be played for all non qualifiers from section play, which will be best of 3 legs, 501, with the final being best of 5 legs, 501.
Drawn Pairs
- Open to all players registered through the New Zealand Darts Council with the Wainuiomata Darts Association.
- Marble Draw for partners.
- Section play, best of 3 legs, 501, followed by 1 life knock-out, best of 5 legs, and the final, best of 7 legs.
- Seeding shall be done before the beginning of play, and shall remain for the whole event.
- A 1 life knockout Plate Round shall be played for all non qualifiers from section play, which will be best of 3 legs, 501, with the final being best of 5 legs, 501.
Husband & Wife / Defacto Couples
- Open to all players registered through the New Zealand Darts Council with the Wainuiomata Darts Association who are married or are in a defacto relationship.
- To be run as two separate competitions as married couples and defacto couples
- Section play, best of 3 legs, 501, followed by 1 life knock-out, best of 5 legs, and the final, best of 7 legs
- There will be NO seeding for this event.
- A 1 life knockout Plate Round shall be played for all non qualifiers from section play, which will be best of 3 legs, 501, with the final being best of 5 legs, 501.
Ladies Invitation
- Ladies invite one male player (the male pays the entry fee).
- Open to all players registered through the New Zealand Darts Council with the Wainuiomata Darts Association.
- Marble Draw for partners.
- Section play, best of 3 legs, 501, followed by 1 life knock-out, best of 5 legs, and the final, best of 7 legs.
- Seeding shall be done before the beginning of play, and remain for the whole event.
- A 1 life knockout Plate Round shall be played for all non qualifiers from section play, which will be best of 3 legs, 501, with the final being best of 5 legs, 501.
Association Open Mixed Pairs
- Open to all players registered through the New Zealand Darts Council with the Wainuiomata Darts Association.
- Pairs must be one male and one female or youth/junior player
- Section play, best of 3 legs, 501, followed by 1 life knock-out, best of 5 legs, and the final, best of 7 legs
- Seeding shall he done before the beginning of play, and shall remain for the whole event.
- A 1 life knockout Plate Round shall be played for all non qualifiers from section play, which will be best of 3 legs, 501, with the final being best of 5 legs, 501.
Association Open Singles
- Open to all players registered through the New Zealand Darts Council with the Wainuiomata Darts Association.
- Section play, best of 3 legs, 501, followed by 1 life knock-out, best of 5 legs, and the final, best of 7 legs.

Most Consistent Player
- This award is decided by the highest average wins per games played in each respective division.
- The player must have played a minimum of 50% of the eligible league fixtures.
- Eligible league fixtures are Super Premier, Premier, 1st and 2nd Divisions.
- In the event of a tie, a count back will be held to determine the player with the least legs against. This player will then be the outright winner.
- Separate trophies for each division
Summer League
- Open to any player registered with the New Zealand Darts Council.
- Teams must have a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 6 players.
- Teams can play all 6 players. Captain to decide the teams make up on the night.
- All games are 1 team game of 1001, 4 pairs and 16 singles, 1 leg 501, straight start, double finish
- Captain’s to toss, winner of toss decides home or away.
- The “Away” team throws for the bull first.
- Each leg counts as one point. Points are accumulated over the draw
- NO PRACTICE DARTS ONCE THE MATCH HAS BEGUN
