WDA General Rules

As Amended 27th January 2007

  1. A Team must consist of a minimum of nine registered members.
  2. No person can be registered with more than one team of the Wainuiomata Darts Association Inc.
  3. That the minimum age to play senior darts is sixteen (16) unless the prior consent of the Management Committee has been obtained. All registered minors under the age of sixteen (16) must be supervised at all times. Teams with minors in a League team playing at venues outside the RSA need to have them cleared with that venue’s bar management prior to playing there by the Wainuiomata Darts Association. (Amended 29/1/07).
  4. The registration of your team members must be in the hands of the Treasurer by the date indicated on the registration form. You can register extra members up to 24 hours before the playing season begins. Registration fees are to be paid to the Treasurer within the date indicated on the Registration Form.
  5. If a team registers with less than 5 players who played a minimum of 5 games for that team, they shall be deemed to be a new team, and automatically being in the lowest division. Change of name will not mean loss of status.
  6. Teams may register extra players throughout the season on giving the Treasurer due notification and payment of registration 24 hours before the new member is to play.
  7. A member may transfer from one team of membership to another team only if the member receives a clearance from his/her original team. 24 Hours notice is required and a $2.00 Clearance fee is to be handed to the Treasurer.
  8. A member seeking a second transfer in the same season must apply in writing to the Secretary stating the reasons. The transfer will be arbitrated at the next committee meeting. A Transfer Fee is payable.
  9. If during a closed season a player wishes to become a member of another team, he/she may do so, but a clearance to say that he/she has no financial obligations outstanding to his/her previous team or league must be sought.
  10. Anyone who is suspended or barred by another Darts Association will be excluded from joining the Wainuiomata Darts Associations Inc.
  11. The committee has the power to refuse any registration.
  12. The venue must be situated in the Wainuiomata Valley.
  13. The venue must be comfortable, warm, well lit and have access to acceptable toilet arrangements suitable for ladies and gentlemen.
  14. The venue must be large enough to accommodate both teams, giving a clear access to the board, playing area and ochre.
  15. The playing area and boards must be well-lit. Boards should be hung in a secure manner; trestles must be sturdy in design and boards in good condition.
  16. A neat and tidy dress standard is required at all times.
  17. Visitors throw first for the bull.
  18. Competition games commence at 7.3Opm but no later than 7.45pm unless arrangements have been made between both Captains.
  19. A team can begin with less than 8 players. Games which the late player is involved in are forfeited until the offending team reaches full strength. We do not default.
  20. Competition points shall count two points for a match won, one point for a draw.
  21. Team’s allocated home games will provide the venue for the match and will not ask the visiting team to contribute towards the rent of hire of the rooms.
  22. It shall be the responsibility of the winning team to send in each week, no later than 1.00pm Saturday both filled in result sheets. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of points gained for that match. In the case of a draw, the home team shall be responsible for the sending of the results sheets. RESULT SHEETS TO BE DELIVERED TO EITHER 37 WAINUIOMATA RD. WOA OR IN THE WAINUIOMATA MAILBOX PROVIDED AT THE  RSA, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL COST THE RESPONSIBLE TEAMS THEIR POINTS FOR THAT GAME.
  23. Team lists to be exchanged by Captains prior to the commencement of games. Each Captain will then write his/her opposition team’s list on the result sheets. Team Captain’s to confirm result with signatures.
  24. No unregistered player may play in Association games. A team playing an unregistered player will lose the match and/or Round Robin points.
  25. The Committee has the power to expel any player of a team.
  26. The Committee’s decision on any and all rulings shall be final and binding.
  27. Seeding shall be done before the beginning of play, and shall remain for the whole event.
  28. No drinking or eating on or in front of the ochre.
